Maui is a liver and white parti, AKC Registered Shih Tzu. He actually has the color genes of a dobie at/at, like Anubis, but he also has the KbKy color gene that turns his coat a solid dark chocolate color. Genetically, he is a chocolate dobie parti Shih Tzu, but we don’t see the tan markings in his coat because of the dominant color gene that overrides the dobie gene. He can produce dobie marked puppies with black nose or with brown nose. They will be classified as black and tan dobie or chocolate and tan dobie.

Maui is a confident, outgoing, happy go lucky, lover boy, with an exploding heart. He simply cannot contain his love for you. When he sees us, he just bursts into happiness trying to love on us.

Maui is a great little guy. He’s lean and petite built. He does have slightly longer legs making him a little taller, although he is not “bigger” in weight. He is right at the low end of the AKC Breed Standard size of 9 – 16 lbs. He has great breed features. A nice coat, great eyes, sweet expression, gentle nature, outgoing temperament, nice open nostrils, no breathing issues, he’s athletic and healthy. He brings a lot of life to the party here at Chimera Shih Tzu!

Maui is full of love, but more of a leap first, think later kinda guy haha. He is super silly and sees a friend in everyone he meets.
