CHIMERA FAMILY REUNIONS

Our family reunions are a great opportunity to meet the breeders, meet our adult Shih Tzu, and to meet the previous puppies that have grown up. Socialize with other amazing Shih Tzu families while the dogs frolick at our feet. We enjoy staying in touch and connecting with everyone!

We will be bringing some of our dogs along. Please give them lots of love! They may be shy at first because we have social anxiety ourselves. You know how sensitive our little friends are and they pickup on our emotions. It’s hard for Allyssa & myself to socialize the dogs to strangers when we are so uncomfortable ourselves. Autism makes socializing very difficult, but we want our dogs to enjoy the affection. Feel free to hold them, sit with them, give them lots of kisses and tell them how special they are! If you have treats, my dogs can have any treats – no dietary restrictions. Feel free to spoil them!

These dogs are our current/ future moms & dads. When it gets closer to the event date, I’ll figure out which Chimera dogs will be attending and add their bios here.

Rescue Donation Drive

Join us in supporting the needs of local rescue pups! We will have a donation table for two local rescue organizations. Feel free to bring any used or outgrown pet items. The rescuers would be so grateful and the rescue pups will be tickled with the goodies!

Suncoast Humane Society is a local shelter.

Here are a list of items that are needed and hopefully some will be donated during our Chimera Family reunion coming up in February. They are in no specific order:

• Puppy & Kitten Formula
• Potty Pads
• Wet kitten food
• Dry dog and cat food (for our food pantry)
• Leashes
• Harnesses
• Martindale collars
• Toys for cats, dogs
• Reusable shopping bags
• Towels for our surgical clinic: (Hand, Bath, Bath sheets, beach, baby blankets, small blanket throws)

Rescue Garage is a local home based rescue. They have adaptable rescue dogs and puppies at their main location as well as in foster homes.

They have a list on their website as well as links to several online wish lists. Sylvia gave me a most needed list (listed below) for Rescue Garage.

Current specific needs:

• Toys
• Treats
• Odoban any scent, should be about $9/gal, Home Depot, Amazon, or Walmart online
• Martingale collars, all sizes, teal is fave color. I have cool leashes so if you get collars let me know and I’ll bring extra leashes.
• Stella & Chewy freeze dried, to use as treats and food toppers
• Kong toys, Benebone chew bones, bully sticks, chicken feet, pig ears, yak cheese for teething, enrichment & entertainment

Odoban is high priority as they run so much laundry, but anything that makes the dogs happy will make the rescue volunteers happy too!! Get creative and lets WOW them! As much difficulty as they face, its nice to have some suprise fun for morale, motivation, and recharge those emotional reserves 🐾

I got them some of these collars (cheap!!! $5-7 each) from Temu and she said they are AMAZING!!!! The blue & green are closest to their favorite teal color, but any color I am sure they’d be grateful for! All sizes appreciated and used. Similar collars on Amazon are $17-18 plus the leashes are $12. I have extra leashes so if you get collars let me know and I’ll bring the # of leashes to attach.
